Couples wishing to be married at Hope Presbyterian Church are encouraged to contact the church office as early as possible concerning date availability. We are pleased to celebrate weddings for non-members. Ordinarily, the Pastor expects to meet with couples at least three times prior to the rehearsal. Each session lasts approximately one hour. At Hope Church, we see our part in a couple's marriage not just as the performance of a ceremony, but as an involvement in the beginning of a new family unit.Dates for weddings must be approved by the Session. Fees for the Pastor, the organist and use of the facilities are set by the Session.

Baptisms
Requests for baptisms are made to the Session through the pastor whether
they come from youth, adults, or parents of infants or children. Ordinarily
the parents, or one exercising parental responsibility, shall be an active
member of the congregation. The session may consider a request for the baptism
of a child from a Christian parent who is an active member of another
congregation. Normally baptism is celebrated in a service of public worship
but extraordinary circumstances may call for the administration of the
sacrament in a setting other than congregational worship. In the service of
baptism the congregation assumes responsibility for nurturing the baptized
person in the Christian life, and therefore if the baptism occurs in a setting
other than public worship, the congregation is to be represented by one or
more members of the session.
Baptism is sign that we belong to God and have been received into
membership of the family of God, the church. The Presbyterian Church (USA)
believes baptism need be experienced only once in a lifetime and recognizes
all Baptisms with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy
Spirit administered by other Christian Churches. We believe that baptism of
infants and children witnesses to the truth that God's love claims us long
before we are able to respond in faith.
